Knox City Tennis Club has been providing quality tennis enjoyment for the families near & far since our founding in 1969. It is our mission to continue to offer the community of Knox & surrounding areas the best possible facilities and many opportunities to enjoy tennis . We believe the best way to achieve this goal is to make sure that is is very easy for anybody to play tennis at our Club.

History

The Knox City Tennis Club was formed from a meeting held by local tennis enthusiasts in November 1969. The Club was originally named the Studfield Tennis Club until about 1977 when it was changed to the current one. After 1987 the Club became an incorporated entity.
We began competition in the Ferntree Gully & District Tennis Association until a switch to the fast growing Waverley & District Tennis Association in the late 1980s. We were also a founding club of the successful Victorian Tennis Association.
We began with two courts and approximately 20 members which grew to a peak of 500 in 1982 prior to establishment of other clubs in the area. Tremendous effort & funds by members has gone into the provision of the present facilities in which to foster the tennis and social activities provided today.
In April 2003 the Club was reborn again after a near terminal end due to the decline in the general area tennis community & a lack of internal support. Currently the future of the Club looks very bright with a number of night teams, mid week ladies, Saturday teams & a healthy membership for social play all contributing to a vigorous growth.
